My wife and I visited New Day Eatery for a late breakfast along with my sister, her husband and their two kids, and we all came away full and satisfied. We ordered a pretty good cross section of items, including an omelette, waffle, pancakes, french toast and oatmeal, and everything was fantastic. An added bonus is that New Day offers lots of options for vegetarians and vegans, which is always nice for big groups. We had two dogs with us, so we were also relieved to find that New Day offers outdoor seating. The outdoor tables are right out on the sidewalk with no surrounding enclosure, so it's not what I'd call a luxe setting, but it's a great amenity for anyone traveling with animals. Definitely give New Day a try if you're in Port Angeles and in search of a tasty, filling breakfast or lunch.

I don't agree with the many positive reviews and suspect that circumstance (i.e. coming to eat after a long hike or camping) has biased others. In my case, we came from Victoria after having a few expensive but delicious lunches. This place was very expensive and nothing special. First of all when walking to the bathroom we noticed that the kitchen was filthy with food all over the floor. The dining area was tidy but tiny fruit flies were all over, getting into our food. The waitress commented that it was "a problem we're working on." The curry chicken salad was mediocre, pita for our sandwiches was poor quality, "artisan pizza" was no better than Domino's, and Asian chicken salad was "eh." For $70 for 4 people I expected much better.

Totally delish. And totally healthy. Love this place. Ordered the oatmeal bar, vegan hash, and green juice. All were fantastic and we kept completing the staff. We don't live in this town but would return over and over if we did.

Loved it, a perfect cafe for a short visit to Port Angeles. Modern and traditional fare that's sensitive to special diets, good food, great coffee and great service. Pancakes (especially coconut one) were so tasty I ordered an extra.

Came here after camping for a few days up at Hurricane Ridge. First off we were impressed and excited by how many vegan options they had! Vegans, Vegetarians, and carnivores will all be happy, and satisfied here. They have fresh pressed juices that all sounded great, but we opted for black coffee and a chai latte with almond milk (they have soy and coconut milk too!!!). Both were delicious! For breakfast we got a build your own omelette (the Mr. Was very happy with this) and the vegan pumpkin waffle, which was equally tasty. The waffle wasn't enough to fill me up but it held me over until lunch. The omelette came with potato "rounds" which were great and a side fruit bowl, which, as others have mentioned was a bit "meh" but was fine as a side. We will definitely come back here when our travels take us to Port Angeles, Victoria, or Hurricane Ridge. A great local find!

Stopped in for breakfast. Got the Mexican omelet. Latte was very good. Only got a half bowl of fruit, maybe they ran out? Omelet was a good portion, tasted good & fresh. Potatoes were rather over done, a bit hard and was just ok. Staff was friendly enough.

So we found this place while returning from the hurricane ridge visitors center. It is well situated and we found parking right in front. We took a take out since my 17 month old was not interested in sitting inside. Ordered two sandwiches both with sweet potato chips. The sandwiches were good but the chips were just plain burned. They were really nice and thin (ones edible) but were burned and hence bitter. If the fries were nice this would have been a 4 star place.

Everything we had was delicious and fresh ! I had the Vegan Hash and asked for the olive tapenade on the side and it was very filling and flavorful. It also included a small bowl of fresh fruit which was actually fresh (unlike other places) My son had the gluten free Belgian waffle and I'm very particular with my waffles but this one hit the spot. You can definitely taste the freshness ! And to top it off the ambiance is cute and cozy with a touch of sass

Super yummy breakfast in this pleasant, sunny little spot. They have lots of cool juice and smoothie options on their menu and plenty of veggie or vegan options too...following a bit of hemming and hawing I went with the tofu scramble, which was excellent, lots of vegetables and a nice curry-like seasoning, served with some miiiiighty tasty potatoes too. My gf seemed pretty happy with the oatmeal bar. Would definitely come back next time I'm in P. A.

By far the highlight of our vacation! What a relief to find an eatery that knows what "vegan" means! The family found everything they needed for their individual tastes, and I consumed all the vegan hash laid before me. Gluten free options were made available to me, including tasty muffins for the road. The Coffee was the best around "Proudly Serving Raven's Brew" drip was Wicked Wolf and their espresso was Three Peckered Billy Goat... my personal favorite! What a great experience... make a point to stop here!

This is a nice, modern cafe. If you're on health food kick, there are some appealing options. The food items on the menu sounded yummy, but I stopped in for a smoothy. I got the carrot cake smoothie, which had carrots, banana, raisins, dates, cinnamon, nutmeg and almond milk. It was sweet, delicious and filling. The prices are kinda high- smoothie was $7 but that's about on par for new age healthy places like this. They also have fruit and veggies juices that looked appealing, too. Located in a convenient spot near the waterfront in downtown PA.

I finally got to try Cafe New Day! Hur-ray! We come up hiking often on the peninsula and the first time we came through was 4th of July weekend. They were closed the day we were passing through, which wasn't even the 4th, and I was really really saddened by this. Especially because they are really the only safe and good gluten free spot in town. I had to go elsewhere and get a salad that came with croutons that was sent back to only have the croutons picked off. Fail. Anyways! We came back up and on the way to the hot springs stopped in for lunch. The service was a bit slow, even though the cafe wasn't busy.. at all. For example, our server forgot my coffee. But she eventually remembered, at least. What impresses me the most is the care they take to respect a serious food allergy. They have GF buns for the burger (which was awesome) and they have a separate fryer for the chips for us GF Weirdos. I didn't experience any cross contamination! The meal was great. It was priced fairly (I'm used to the GF upcharge). I would come back when I am going through town. Absolutely!

Party of 8 and everyone loved their lunch. Gluten free options and the kids were happy too. Very casual and friendly atmosphere.

I have recently decided to support a friend who has Celiac Disease and we looked for a gluten free option. We found this gem. I had the Italian Panini with gluten free bread without pepperoncinis and regular chips. I was seriously impressed. The sandwich was absolutely delicious andthe chips were cooked to perfection! I enjoyed this meal so much I didn't leave one morsel. I will definitely cone back here when I visit Bainbridge Island again.

Delicious! We had lunch here on a summer Sunday and everyone loved their food. The Bahn Mi sandwiches, the paninis, and burgers all great. Tasty smoothies too.

A must stop for breakfast. We stopped in for a juice and coffee to go and HAD to go back the next day for breakfast. Everything on the menu looked amazing - we enjoyed the pulled pork hash and pulled pork stuffed pancakes. Their juices are made from scratch as well. Staff was great and service was efficient.

  • Courtney B.

I've had lunch and breakfast at New Day a few times and it has been great every time! For lunch I've enjoyed the Thai Beef Salad, Roast Beef Panini and the salad bar which has fresh made from scratch yummy salads and dressings. New Day offers plenty of choices for vegetarians and gluten free. Fresh juice bar and happy smiling servers. YUM!

Food was pretty good, latte was too. A bit slow service. Downtown location, close to the ferry. Room was painted black. Veggie and meat options.

  • Laura O.

Great spot for hearty, healthy breakfast. The vegan waffle was a great option for a member of our party with a dairy intolerance. The potatoes were very tasty. We also ordered the pancetta flatbread, coconut pancakes and Fiesta scramble - all were delicious.

  • Holly L.

We had a delicious breakfast - the Mediterranean Omelette and the Pancakes with lemon infused syrup. So good! Even the ice water was lemon and cucumber infused! It was nice to see vegan and meat dishes on the same menu, there's something for everyone, and it's tasty!

I was just traveling through Port Angeles for the day and luckily stopped in at New Day! I wish they had this restaurant at home. I was able to get a kale smoothie and organic veggie omelette with a wheatgrass shot. I was very impressed with the menu, service, presentation and quality of the food. I liked it so much I made it a point to go a few days later as we were leaving. Best meal I had on 3 week road trip. My husband who usually groans at my smoothies and organic food, actually loved it and asked why all "healthy" restaurants weren't this good. FIVE STARS!

    (5)
  • Deb R.

Recently popped in for a quick bite as I had heard good things about New Day. I had the potato bacon soup. It was overly seasoned with tarragon and the bread served with it was so dry as to be inedible. I found this cafe to be overpriced; $2 for a tiny cookie that was about 2 bites. Even though I live here, I'll not be coming here anytime in the near (or distant) future.....

  • Nory B.

What a gem! Good amount of seating, nice ambiance. Service is prompt, attentive and friendly. I had the veggie omelet, customized with egg whites only and toast instead of their potatoes: that was one of the best omelets I've ever had! Perfectly cooked thin omelet full of crisp veggies that were sautéed separately so the omelet wasn't watery, great flavor! The wheat toast was really flavorful as well. 2 thumbs up! My husband had the gluten free French toast with syrup infused with orange blossom--he said it was very tasty. Oh, and their water is infused with cucumbers; a nice touch. Definitely a must to visit when in town!

We have been traveling for a week and to find a fresh food place in a small town was proving to be an impossible feat, until we found this place! It was delicious. Fresh food and veggies. Thick cut bacon smoked in house. Many gluten free and "healthy" alternatives. Their menu said they use organic ingredients whenever possible, which I enjoy. This place has an extensive fresh juice, smoothie, and tea menu for a small eatery. It was a great experience and I would go back if I was ever in the area again

Combining an innovative menu with perfectly execution, Cafe New Day is, without a doubt, the best sit-down breakfast I've had in years. My wife had french French Toast Apple pancakes, while I had a single coconut pancake with my omelet. If there is one thing on the menu you have to get, it's this, because while you might think that both of these pancakes would be too sweet, they're both served with maple syrup that falls squarely in the "savory" part of the sweet-savory spectrum, but still has the flavor of the pancakes. In other words, you're getting French Toast Apple-infused maple syrup, and Coconut-infused maple syrup. And it's real maple syrup, so it's not sickly sweet. It's a great idea, and it works perfectly, especially when the pancakes are still fluffy despite the fillings. Speaking of omelets, I had a veggie with Monterey Jack. I liked this, but the potato on the side! Whole Yukon Gold potatoes, sliced crosswise into 1/3" medallions, deep-fried crisp on both sides but creamy in the middle. Someone please send me a recipe to steal. Please? The interior of the restaurant is a bit dark, but the food is nothing short of brilliant. You won't regret a stop here.

Not for those who like processed frozen food deep fried. This restaurant has a fun decor with very good food. It is inviting and offers board games with a couple of large chalk walls to write on. I would like to return and bring my grand children. The menu is great I can't wait to go back to try the other food that I saw other people ordering. The salad bar was fresh with homemade salad dressings. They make a red onion salad dressing that is really good. They offer a few homemade salads, along with fresh greens along with different things to put on top. A meat eater or vegetarian would find something very tasty on their menu. On the way out I saw a few nice looking homemade pies.

Best breakfast in Port Angeles. We stopped in on the way to the Olympics and made sure we would have time to stop in again on our way home. Coconut pancakes! YUM! They make scrabbled eggs better than momma. Wants a shot of wheat grass? Or maybe a latte? Anything in between. The Dirty Chia smoothie was divine.

We ate here three times in one weekend in Port Angeles. We came to explore downtown, which has a nice little area near the cafe. Had The Spicy One; The Red One; and Carrot/Orange juices and enjoyed fresh made while place was packed. Great service, even under such pressure of the ferry leaving soon with the flux of guests. Salad bar is terrific! If you're vegan, you'll enjoy this place. Nice selection. Being an omnivore, I chose the Pigs in a Blanket~made with pulled pork and homemade syrup. Just perfect! Also had their salads which the house dressing is a tasty red onion vinaigrette. Go, eat, enjoy. If you have to wait a few minutes, it's okay the food will be worth it!

Very dissatisfied don't know how they have 4+ ! The food was ok, got Mediterranean omelette, vegan hash, pancetta flatbreads! The egg, pancetta flatbread is the only item that actually had flavor! Maybe the attitude of the thin tall waitress ruined the taste of the food,. Fruit and potatoes included with meals, however the most expensive meal's fruit bowl had 5 mini dice apple & 2 tiny piece of cantaloupe not even half full , while the other dishes had nice full bowls of fruit, mention to waitress and again her attitude was that how it comes for $2 I can get you another one! Poor service don't know why I left a tip!

The soups are good. Love the bacon potato soup. They provide a slice of bread instead of crackers; the bread is very good (wish I knew what kind it is). The fiesta omelette is delicious. Most breakfasts come with potato slices, round, about a half inch thick and seasoned. It's a very nice change from the typical hashbrowns.

great spot for breakfast/brunch. ample seating. tried the sausage and egg croissantwich and the orange one juice. didn't try the salad bar but it looked incredible and fresh. will come back again when in the area to try other items.

Went here for take-out smoothies and wished we could stay for a real breakfast. Good for vegans, vegetarians, and people who want healthy food options, but they also have waffles and french toast. The lemon chia smoothie was our favorite.

Very good breakfast experience. Very fresh and the service was good as well. House made chorizo omelet was awesome.

Underwhelming breakfast and a waitress who was completely lacking a sense of humor! The breakfast croissant sandwich was served in a basket, and was sopping wet so it was nothing I could actually pick up and eat, but being in a plastic basket I couldn't exactly cut it up easily either. Why this was not just served on a plate is beyond my comprehension. Husband's breakfast was uneventful as well... not quite sure where all the great reviews come from. We felt pretty lonely in this place with a waitress who didn't like to interact with people. Won't be returning.

Update- Another epic fail Went for some lunch. A simple sandwich was 12 bux. I'm sure most of the Positive reviews aren't from actual customers.... What a joke.

We hereby deem this place amazing for the following reasons: 1. Best fruit smoothies outside of Hawaii! Freshly made, with as many local and organic ingredients as possible. 2. Their juice combinations are equally fantastic, and they also have a great little breakfast (and lunch) menu that combines well with any smoothie or juice option. 3. Our server was awesome - friendly and just the right amount of attentive, and the prices were reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. 4. The breakfast sandwich (on a lovely croissant) was fantastic (you could tell the sausage was homemade), and the pancakes were some of the best we've had (and we're big pancake connoisseurs over here): light and fluffy and perfectly sized. 5. The coffee was good and plentiful and also they have free and friendly Wi-Fi and we might have stayed for hours had we not had trails and ocean-front to explore. Definitely recommend. (Plenty of free street parking nearby, too, especially if you get there early.)

I visited this cafe several weeks ago, after a long hike along the Elwha river. The service was quick and friendly. I don't know why this place has so many negative reviews. It's a small cafe in a a small town- if you are expecting perfect service and food, you need to get your expectations in check or go to a different restaurant. Even after several weeks, I am still reminiscing about the amazing veggie burger I had here. It was honestly one of the best I have ever had. My boyfriend had the pizza which was also delicious! We will definitely be back here when in Port Angeles again. PS. The "dirty" water someone else described is actually cucumber-infused water, which was quite tasty. All I had to do was look at the pitcher the waitress was using to see the cucumber in it. It's not rocket science people. If you're that concerned about your water, why don't you just ask? (instead of leaving a negative review because you were too afraid to speak up at the appropriate time). /end rant

The drink options alone are amazing. We went for breakfast. I had the gluten free French toast which you can barely tell is gluten free. They have many other gluten free options and are accommodating to all allergies. They ask you if they need to accomdate you. That alone beats so many other places but besides that the food is good. Worth the stop.

My employer loves to schedule birthday lunches here! Lots of fresh, organic and local food. They don't buy cheap produce or ingredients!! (everyone complaining about price is probably not taking that into consideration) I have ordered something different every time I have gone. I have not been disappointed yet. Wait staff is always there to fill up glasses and help with anything you need. Food is clean, fun and tasty!!!

Found this place by sheer luck! Great healthy, gluten-free and vegan options. There's also gourmet hamburgers/sandwiches with real meat and wheat buns too! Love fresh juice options...Ps great salad bar with real salad options like kale! Black beans! Place to go for great tasting healthy food!

  • Megan M.

Hit or miss here. When I've been for lunch the soups were always great. Breakfast has some very tasty options but service seems to depend on the day. The last time I was here we came in for breakfast and they were steady, one server and a girl helping get drinks, bus tables and run food. The server kept yelling the girls name to get her attention and asking her to do things while the server seemed to kind of wait for something she had to do. I understand the importance of delegating and each person having a roll but I don't want to spend my breakfast hearing someone's name called. The food is great and if you can sit in the room away from the register it may not be an issue, but I don't know if I'll be back here...

  • Lois B.

A bit over priced, but everyone seems to enjoy their menu and especially the salad bar. I used to order bahn mi sandwich, but quickly stopped because the bread gets so hard that it's hard to bite into it. It even cut me in the mouth once. I also wish they didn't out so many things in their water pitchers. It's nasty to look at and is so unsanitary!

  • Dustin D.

Wow! Great food, great service. We had the pulled pork hash and the omelette. Both tasted amazing. Very family friendly with a chalkboard wall to draw on. They have a statement that they try to get as much local and organic as possible, and they make everything fresh each day. It certainly tasted that way.

Small menu, omelette wasn't as great as I had hoped. I did enjoy the local coffee and the location though.

finally tried cafe new day and it was EXCELLENT! my boyfriend and I both had the meat lovers breakfast croissant and loved it. I also really liked their unique style of potatoes, they use larger sized potato slices and tasted delicious. nice touch on serving with watermelon too! anyway, I think we have found our favorite breakfast spot in PA. just an all around neat little spot. I would also really love to try having lunch here, the menu looks delicious and I'm not even vegetarian!

I don't eat here often, but it is a good change from other restaurants in town. Lots of tasty gluten free and vegetarian options. A good menu for breakfast and lunch, and a nice and healthy salad bar. I say try it out, especially if you are in the mood for something different.

Delicious, healthy food. Had the chicken salad sandwich on Dave's bread. It comes with homemade potato chips (drool), but I chose the homemade soup instead for just a couple bucks more. Guy playing guitar, just strumming softly which was wonderful, not intrusive on conversation. Very pleasant.

Really sub-par. Prices are extremely high but food below average. We ordered the pizza and it was horrible; it was wet and the cheese and toppings slid right off the pizza.

We needed a bite before heading off to Victoria so went here based on a quick comparison of surrounding Yelp ratings. Guess you can't always judge a restaurant by its stars. We were given a friendly enough greeting. The place has a nice feel to it; creative deco. The music was a bit grating and loud, but it couldn't really be heard over the growling drone of the fans and compressors driving the salad bar refrigeration. Yikes! Hard to hear my friend. We moved to the back room. Noise problem solved. Music improved too. We were in the mood for Asian, so we ordered the Asian Chicken salad and Thai Beef salad; $12 each. Beef salad arrived with maybe eight thin strips of cold gray unseasoned roast beef (probably a few days old), on a bed of nice looking greens with a few leave of cilantro mixed in. The thing that made it Thai, I guess, was the dressing that came on the side. Nice enough sauce, but it seemed like a commercial blend. It turns out that my friend's Asian chicken salad came with exactly the same sauce. Hummm, one amazing sauce to satisfy any number of Asian needs. My salad was small enough to eat in a few bites (good bye $12; hello still hungry), her's was a shredded iceberg feast, complete with store bought fried noodles and cold flavorless chicken bits (think salad bar chicken chunks) that were saved by the sauce. The single rolls we were served as a side were tasty, but cold and at least a day old. Then there's the table water. It tastes like it's infused with cucumber, be we weren't really sure; afraid to ask, because if we were told it wasn't flavored we could only assume that the dishwasher wasn't doing the job, and we didn't want to know that. It's disappointing when Yelp lets you down. Sad when a cute restaurant like this can't can't get its act together to find the talent, or ingredients needed to earn 4 stars. This place has potential. Hopefully someone at New Day will read this and really explore a few new recipes for these dishes. Hopefully they'll fix the noisy salad bar. Hopefully they'll tell us that it was cucumbers in the water.

We had the Caramelized Onion Burger with mixed house-made regular and sweet potato chips. It was really yummy! All of their meat is organic and grass fed, which is a nice touch. The lemonade is freakishly refreshing too! I recommend this place for lunch but wish the ambience matched up with the great food. Overall though, I really like how they cater to vegans, gluten-free, and conscientious meat eaters.

A little more than I'd prefer to spend on breakfast, but if I lived here I might try the chorizo some time. We ordered off the ala carte to keep the bill light; eggs, bacon and my house made sausage were all good.

Finally got to eat here! I enjoyed my sandwich and everything else looked good as well, my soup was also tasty . Only complaint is the chips that were served with the meals, I would've like to seen a German potato salad or something . Other then that the service was great and attentive.

Great lunch spot. Four people, four different lunches. All delicious. We enjoyed the Viet beef sandwich, chicken Viet street sandwich, veggie burger and panini. On the Sunday afternoon when we dined there was also live music. Great place - highly recommended.

Excellent food! On the way to the ferry- very convenient and quick. I had the quinoa salad which was supper tasty. Lettuce and chicken were fresh and very good. Came with homemade pesto salad dressing on the side. My husband had the roast beef panini which was also excellent. Good size with caramelized onions and horseradish sauce. It came with homemade potato chips. Very friendly and prompt service. We were in and out of there in 25 mins.

BEWARE THEIR ODD HOURS...I've tried to eat here twice, and they are CLOSED on tues & wed....makes no sense! They are not serving the residents of Port Angeles with that schedule! Fail. I may update my rating if they're ever open when I want to try it.

My friend and I were in town visiting Olympic national park and were starving. We stopped by here and we were immediately glad we did. This place had the best selection of tea I have ever seen and everything on the menu looked amazing. The food was so unique, healthy, and tasty! Five stars. We will definitely be back :)

Prior to our trip to Washington, I spent a good amount of time on Trip Advisor researching places to go out in the National Park and one of my concerns was consistently seeing people discuss a lack of food options. And these weren't vegan people, so I knew I had my work cut out for me. Cafe New Day was recommended to me through Trip Advisor and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal there. We stopped here for lunch on our first day in the park- cute restaurant, great servers, not too busy. The menu noted the items that were vegan and it was made simple. We both ordered a bahn mi, mine with tofu, along with their local sweet potato chips on the side. The sandwich was great- tofu was yummy and veggies were perfectly pickled. I also really enjoyed the chips on the side. We grabbed a slice of the carrot cake to take with us and eat later in the day- at the time not knowing what options we'd have. The carrot cake was tasty, but I think I'd prefer it without raisins. I love carrot cake and I love raisins, just not together. I definitely recommend stopping here when in Port Angeles for a yummy and fulfilling meal.

Wow what a great place for breakfast. I had the Fiesta omelet with a cup a coffee. The drip coffee was very good and if you need " High Octane" they have Expresso too. The Fiesta omelet came with a fresh cup of very fresh fruit and sliced potatoes that were amazing. The waitress was super friendly and very attentive. I think she refilled my water glass 4 times ( I like to drink water with my meal). They had easy calm music playing that helped you slow it down a notch and enjoy the meal. This is why Yelp is so awesome. Finding places like this for breakfast. What a great way to start the day.

From the outside, it looks like an ordinary cafe. But the interior is gorgeous! Love the chairs. As for the food, it was great. My burger, carameliZed onion burger, was really tasty. The new day pizza my bf got was good too. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I guess I could be considered a regular here. I'm a sucker for vegetarian burgers what can I say. Highlights for me are the roasted veggie sandwitch it's super killer but it varies in size each time. I could eat three but I can't afford three, which is really the only negative I guess is the high price point proving a little difficult to target locals as customers but it's a niche restaurant so people shouldn't harp on the price so much it's hard keeping fresh veggies in stock everyday. My other favorite is the cashew lentil leek burger it is the best thing I've ever had in my long 23 years of life, I suggest a peice of cheese on it if your diet allows. Another thing to get to pair with your meal is the Arnold Palmer with real tea and lemonade, so good it's the perfect palette cleanser or the killer house water with the lemon and cucumber. I love coming here when I have the money, do I wish the meals were cheaper? Yes do I wish the proportions were larger? Duh. Is that gonna stop me from coming back? Nope! If this place was an actress it would be a young Molly ringwald.

The salad and the house made lemonade was great, and the vegan carrot cake truly magnificent. But the fifth star was earned by the helpful and friendly staff who really put this place over the top.

Nothing special here. Just really overpriced skimpy wanna-be heath food. came in here for a snack and spent 12 bucks far a sandwich... ate all mine... then half my friends... and was still staved! It was okay I guess, just not worth all the money. They only offer MOSTLY organic options, and nothing here is GMO free. Gluten free seems to be the only claim to fame.

I stopped here for a to-go lunch and it was awesome! The staff was extremely friendly, They had delicious bites of brownie set out for a taste test while I ordered at the counter and gave me cucumber water while I waited for my food to be ready. I had curried chicken salad which was delicious and a healthy portion and the dressing was apple butter vinaigrette...which was new to me and complimented the curry well. I also had a piece of carrot cake (vegan even though I am not) and it was also delicious. The breakfast menu looked amazing as well and I am excited to go back and try it. They have local beer and wine and hard cider; coffee and pastries; artisan pizzas; soup, salad and sandwiches all made from scratch! You can easily order vegan or gluten free or not. The owners even managed to find the original Harrington's Cafe sign that used to hang outside on this historic Port Angeles building. I will definitely be back!

This is the first place I ever went to when I first came to Port Angeles, and I still go here at least once a week. The food is great, and there is a little something for everyone... Plus they have decent hours, and aren't closed down early or on Sundays.

We eat at Cafe New Day several times a week - consistently the best in town. The salad bar is always fresh with interesting side salads. The soups are delicious and there are always vegan options for diners who want healthy food. Love the pizza and burgers. Service is always good, and when we ask to customize our meals to fit dietary guidelines they never make us feel like a bother. Highly recommend it.

Very friendly service and clean space with eclectic decor. I always appreciate a place with a hand-lettered chalkboard menu, and many of the offerings on this one were tempting. Many gluten-free and vegan options, and the portion sizes are just right. Everything we ordered was fresh, tasted homemade (amazing soups), and was served at the right temperature. We ate here three times on our visit to Port Angeles and it was the best place we tried during our 4-day stay. The only con I have may be minor for most people but I always notice the music in any place I choose to eat, and their choice for breakfast time was a bit on the loud and edgy side for me. Aside from that, the service and food would bring me back on a future visit.

Came here based on reviews, but was very disappointed. Ordered Mediterranean chicken flat bread sandwich. It was NOT under the heading "hot sandwiches" as we planned on taking it on a picnic. Box came out hot, and it turns out sandwich was heated. Grr. Whatever, will just eat it earlier instead I thought. Opened up box to find more of a wrap, not a flatbread. The bread was no thicker than a flour tortilla, and about as flavorful. Plus it was just basic chopped romaine, chicken cubes, some pesto, and a couple of onions. Pretty bland and oily. And the total for just that one item was $13.50...yikes. On the plus side, the woman working the counter was really nice.

Tons of Gluten Free options which is so nice! We had the Banana Stuffed French toast and the Fiesta Omelette. Didn't expect much as in my experience, gluten free options haven't been as amazing as non gluten free food but at this place, I couldn't tell the difference. The food was amazing! Loved the potato rounds! Super crispy!!! The owner served us as we ate outside with our dogs and she was super nice. The interior was cute and clean! DEF a Port Angeles must!

Overall a very good lunch. Nicely prepared veggie burger and some lemon poppy seed mini bunt cake. The food was very tasty, good service and friendly servers. A very clean restaurant. The reason for the three stars you ask? The food is over priced for what it is. I do not know what is setting their price point. The place was moderately full during a Wednesday lunch hour. So I guess some people see the value. I did not.

I love this place because I always leave feeling fulfilled, healthy, and happy. The restaurant keeps making better and better decisions that I think fill an invaluable niche in the peninsula dining experience. First of all, they recently decided that on Sundays you can order breakfast all day! They also are extending their hours to serve dinner. Up until now there was really only one place in town to get a top quality dinner that wouldn't cost you an arm and a leg and had a lot of variety on the menu. That place was Gastro Pub, which is way too small, noisy, and inconsistent. It is hard to enjoy a quick and quiet bite to eat there whilst relishing the anonymity you used to have living in a big city. Cafe new day has better food and service.

I had been on a vacation to that place. While searching for the breakfast we came across this place. They serve amazing food. I loved their veg. burger and the sweet potato chips on the side. I found it really tasty and filling. I got another burger packed for later... :) My friends too ordered breakfast with meat variety and all were fan of the taste. Also bottomless mimosas were good. Keep it up guys. If I come back to the place, i am sure gonna visit your place.

I wish every town had a cafe like New Day. It's everything I look for in a lunch spot. The atmosphere is open and unassuming, the menu is well-planned and the food is both healthy and delicious. Husband had a sandwich stuffed with fresh avocado and veggies and I had a burger topped with caramelized onions, bacon and cheese. My burger was perfectly cooked (a rarity, in my book), and the meat was full of flavor. It tasted as though it was fresh, never frozen. The homemade sweet-potato chips that came with were perfectly salted. New Day will definitely be a must-stop next time I'm anywhere in the Port Angeles area.

I can't find a bad thing about this place. The panini was exceptional and the food was cooked perfectly. I thought it was a little bit over priced at first but I couldn't even finish half my sandwich so it was well worth to take home. The chips are what surprised me the most it looked like they are cooked there and are roasted perfectly. I didn't get to try the soup but I'm sure they are just as amazing as the menu.

Recently had a lunch and breakfast at this place and both were outstanding. A little more on the pricey side of things, but definitely worth it. The cappuccino I had here was the best I've had in a long time. The service was a little on the slow side, so you might want to skip it if you're in a hurry or let them know you've got somewhere to be.

This is my very favorite place for breakfast in Port Angeles, and we have quite a few great places for morning food here. The food is consistent and delicious. I'm a creature of habit, and the Veggie Omelette and Thai Beef Salad for lunch never disappoint!

We really didn't expect much of this cafe, but it exceeded everyone's expectations by a lot. Great service, very good food, and a fun, kitschy environment where the kids could play board games while we waited. Loved the sweet potato chips. They were able to manage my vegan sandwich request, which I appreciate, though I wish they had stuffed it full of veggies. It was a little thin - hummus, spring mix, and a couple veggies. The kids liked their pizza, and the other adults in the party had a variety of sandwiches that they all enjoyed.

Awesome little healthy place. I'm a fan of places that use wholesome ingredients. Try the salad bar. The vegetables were very fresh with lots if good color varieties. Good burgers too.

We had lunch yesterday at Cafe New Day. Our group had sandwiches and salads. We were all pleased with the quality of the bread and the contents of our sandwiches. I had a roast beef and caramelized onion panini and my wife had the turkey panini. Our other table mates had a burger and a Bahn Mi sandwich. All of our lunches were very good. The red onion vinaigrette served with our salads was outstanding.

I love this place! Everything is made from scratch, in house. Right down to the ranch dressing. the entire resteraunt is Organic and as local as possible which is a big plus. This is one of the few option is town that caters to the Vegan populace in addition to those of us with fewer dietary restrictions. they will happily adjust for said dietary restrictions whenever possible and the staff is super friendly. very often the owner will be seen working the register or waiting tables, over seeing her staff and greeting customers by name. she's often a little harried but always friendly and open to suggestions. The coffee here is strong and tasty and the meals are all excellent. Try the sweet potato rounds for a real treat. because it's all made in house when you order the food can be a little slow to arrive. if you are in a hurry, such as catching a ferry, let them know and they can suggest which entrees will be fastest. Bottom line? This place is AWESOME!

We stooped here after our motorcycle ride from Seattle/San Francisco to catch the ferry it certainly was a warm welcome, There were so many options that it was hard to decide. The food excellent try the tuna and the salad as a side for $5 extra was worth double!! The carrot cake awesome along with the steamed hot chocolate. Service with warm smiles and even allowed us to "charge up". I'm even considering stopping here for the delicious sounding pancakes when we are on our way back! A must for the traveller!

The BEST restaurant in town for either breakfast or lunch. They have interesting food with a superb knowledge of how to use herbs and combine favors in a most interesting way. A great hamburger, great salads. The salad bar is where you can sample the salads listed on the menus. Iced tea is fresh brewed right in your glass. The table water has fresh cucumber and/or lemon slices. I try to eat there often and have never had a meal that I did not like or that I didn't finish every bite. They hang paintings from a local artist who paints wonderful abstracts. Oh, and they also have board games to play and a chalk board wall to draw on.

It was easy to find and open during breakfast. Tofu scramble and potato rounds were great, service was OK. Serving sizes weren't huge and I appreciated that. It's hard to rate because if this was in Seattle it would be 4 but I don't know about the Port Angeles area so much.

Had a nice time at breakfast--gourmet food, flexible enough for someone with heavy food restrictions to enjoy, and responsive and well-informed service. I had the milano breakfast sandwich--many homemade ingredients, well-blended flavors and nice presentation. We'll be back!

Great food and a friendly staff. We ordered food for a crew going to a logging site, it stayed well overnight and everybody loved it. A little bit pricey, but I'd say it was worth it. Yam chips were awesome too!

We stopped here on our way to Olympic National park and it was the perfect lunch spot. Two of us ordered the tomato basil soup, potato bacon soup, New Day hamburger and banh mi chicken sandwich and everything was very tasty. Staff was great too. I would definitely stop again if in the area.

In a nutshell: New Day is an unpretentious bistro located in the downtown area. The service is always accurate and friendly, and the fare is always fresh and flavorful. They offer vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options for many items. I am quite fond of the cashew lentil leek burger. I still enjoy trying other items, and have yet to be disappointed. Their baked goods and desserts are delicious.

This wonderful cafe recently opened in an historic building in downtown Port Angeles. The owners John and Kelli are friendly and accomodating. Their menu serves very healthy breakfasts and lunches. They are not open for dinner Their chicken noodle soup was the best, I ever had! Their tuna salad was done with wonderful seasonings. Their omelettes were very good and the potatoes served with them were outstanding! I highly recommend this warm, friendly place.

Looking for wholesome and healthy food while traveling can be burdensome. While on a road trip around NW Washington, we stopped at this delightful cafe before heading out to Hoh Rainforest. SO glad we did. I enjoyed a delicious caprese sandwich that was made on their homemade flat bread. The sandwich was accompanied by breakfast potatoes. I compared these potatoes to what you want and expect when you ask for hash browns to be well done and crispy, but get them soggy and mushy. They are SO crispy and delicious. Coffee is also awesome. I highly recommend this cute little cafe. I also appreciate that they appreciate the history of the building and have displayed the old sign and use what looks like an antique deli case.

We stopped to eat here while our car was parked in the overflow lot for the ferry. We were stressed because they said there was very little chance of us getting on the ferry because it was full and that we would probably have to wait four hours for the next ferry. All of our anxiety disappeared when we saw this restaurant and the menu! There was something for everyone in the family. I am allergic to several things and vegan so the waitress sent over the owner, Kelli, to help us. She was so kind, sensitive, and helpful, in a way I rarely see. She suggested the Banh Mi sandwich and since I am vegan she made it with tofu marinated in lemongrass. Delicious! I also got the small side salad and the salad bar was to die for. The salad alone would have been a fantastic meal, but I was happy to have the sandwich too, I wouldn't have wanted to miss that! There were so many hearty vegan options in the salad bar, a vegan dream! My favorite was a lentil salad that had lavender in it. Amazing. My family is not vegan nor allergic and they enjoyed the food as much as I did. My 12 year old daughter got the margherita pizza and was in heaven. My 10 year old daughter got the kid's grilled cheese and chips (fantastic!) and my husband got the veggie burger. We so thoroughly enjoyed our meal that we forgot that we might be waiting in town for four more hours. My only regret is that I did not buy one of the bundt cakes for dessert. I was too full at the time but I can still see them on the counter calling for me... If you are in Port Angeles, this place is wonderful. There are options for all dietary needs and a truly talented owner/chef. Oh, and we luckily were the second to last car to get on the earlier ferry. Woo-hoo! A winning day!

Loved it, a perfect cafe for a short visit to Port Angeles. Modern and traditional fare that's sensitive to special diets, good food, great coffee and great service. Pancakes (especially coconut one) were so tasty I ordered an extra.

Absolutely!

FIVE STARS!

/end rant

Wow! Great food, great service. We had the pulled pork hash and the omelette. Both tasted amazing. Very family friendly with a chalkboard wall to draw on. They have a statement that they try to get as much local and organic as possible, and they make everything fresh each day. It certainly tasted that way.

I don't eat here often, but it is a good change from other restaurants in town. Lots of tasty gluten free and vegetarian options. A good menu for breakfast and lunch, and a nice and healthy salad bar. I say try it out, especially if you are in the mood for something different.

finally tried cafe new day and it was EXCELLENT! my boyfriend and I both had the meat lovers breakfast croissant and loved it.

Oatmeal was okay. Takeout sandwiches and homemade chips on whole wheat bread was good choice.
